Manhattan Beach Community Counseling
Q. Is this faith-based counseling?

A.
We respect and serve people of all faiths, even those of no faith.  Our emphasis is on helping people navigate the many challenges that life presents.  We are an outreach of Manhattan Beach Community Church and located on the premises.  Our counselors are not necessarily affiliated with the church.

Q. Do I need to live in a certain community to receive services?

A.
No.  We are open to anyone regardless of where they live.

Q. How much will it cost?

A.
We have a sliding scale.  We ask that clients pay what they are able based on a scale of:  $20-$60 per individual session

Q. What if I can’t pay that much?

A. No one is turned away because they can’t pay.  We offer a liberal “scholarship” program allowing for 10 sessions at no   cost, with a review and the opportunity for an extension where warranted.

Q. Can anyone get services here?

A. No.  Marriage and Family Therapy is to help people with their relationships with self and others.  That can be family, co-worker, teacher, classmate or neighbor.  Prospective clients are interviewed by a supervisor to deem their appropriateness for services.  The seriously mentally ill need to be seen in a medical environment to be properly assessed and monitored.

Q. Do you accept any insurance?

A. We are not prepared to bill any insurance and are not a provider on any panel. We can, however, provide you with a superbill receipt that you can use for your records.
